Inspired Life: Designer Tracey Martin

Tracey Martin, Designer, Life Strategist, Wellness Coach, Speaker and Entrepreneur.

What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now? I am focused on creating positive change in individuals in order to help them evolve into the leaders they are destined to be. My platform is sustainable fashion.

Fashion is one of the most influential industries in today’s society. I have a beautiful line of eco fashion handbags called Threads of Evolution. We are currently wrapping up an elegant everyday sustainably produced line of women’s apparel. It is our global wardrobe produced in the USA.  You can look good and do good.

I am also the co-owner of a company called De La Terre Colours. It’s a beautiful line of organic GOT certified plant based dyes for textiles and apparel. The toxic nature of our fashion industry is alarming. It can no longer be “business as usual.”

What failure did you learn the most from and what did you learn?  I don’t believe in failure. I like to reframe it as “intensive research over a prolonged period of time.”

The biggest lesson that I have learned is that while I may be capable of doing a multitude of things, I am choosing to focus where my heart is right now. There is no straight path to clarity. Just be willing to stay the course.

What is your go-to strategy in the moments of self doubt? I have mentors I seek out to have a conversation. I write stuff down and review. I check in with God and be on the quiet and stillness and reflect. So not just one thing but a process.

Who or what are you most grateful for? Hands down my family. My parents for the foundation they instilled in me. My husband for being my rock and my girls for being my teachers and my faith.

How do you recharge? Spending time with my girls doing things that they love to do. We love to scour vintage shops to see if we can find a few treasures; everything from vintage dresses to vintage vinyl.  Also, reading a good inspirational book.
